Well, it appears I’m arriving a little late to the blogging game. And I apologize for that because, let’s be honest, anyone who knows me (i.e. my mom and siblings) will tell you that I am a real treat.

Let me attempt to answer some questions that those close to me have asked me.

Why are you blogging?

There are a couple of answers to that, but the most important answer is not super interesting that I very much enjoy writing. The decision to start blogging came to me after I realized I very much need and would like some sort of creative outlet. Since I am definitely not an artist, and I only sing well in the shower, there really wasn’t another option.

What is this blog going to be about?

Lately, the boyfriend and I have spent some time talking about what it means to be a millennial. I thought – it seems like everyone in my generation is going through the same struggles and no one is really talking about it! I’m sure there are lots of blogs about the millennial lifestyle but I wanted to write honestly about what it means to try to figure yourself out in this ever-changing world. That’s not to say other people aren’t doing that. Perhaps they are. But I doubt they would let me write on their blogs.

So, basically, this blog will focus on several things that make up a larger picture: living as best I can as a millennial in a society and an economy built by Generation X and Baby Boomers. It seems like my generation breaks down so many walls and barriers only to be stopped by more walls and barriers. Let’s talk about that.

Let’s talk about good books and shopping and saving money and paying bills and finding time for the gym. Let’s talk about pressures of society to be a feminist and to have kids and to get married and also to have a stellar career. Let’s talk about failing and then succeeding and then failing some more. Let’s talk about losing people and finding people and coping with life.

I hope you decide to follow my journey. Maybe you can relate to it in some way.

If not, I have a really cute dog and really cute nephews and really funny stories about life. So there’s always that.
